Citrine

Available in many parts of the world, (but most common in USA, Brazil, & Africa), Citrine is known primarily as a crystal of success in monetary/business matters. It is a yellow/golden variety of quartz, but, much of the Citrine on the market is less than genuine, as it is, instead, treated amethyst or smoky quartz, which is heated to make the yellow variety. However, true Citrine is rare, and has a more golden quality, than the treated yellow version. It is said to promote & manifest success and abundance, and particularly in business, thus its nickname, ‘the merchants stone’. There are other stones that promote luck, abundance, etc., but, Citrine vibrations lead to a more permanent kind of success, a stable and anchored kind of prosperity, as opposed to the fleeting ‘good luck’ types out there. They are routinely kept in cash boxes, businesses, or anyplace that might empower its successful vibrations. (these days, many are kept on the computer, as many businesses are home based) It is great for breaking up negative energies, and never absorbs these, thus, never needs cleansing, like most crystals. Self confidence, mental clarity, spiritual and psychic growth, dream recall, dispels fears of judgement, being alone, or being unworthy of love. It can also help one to overcome grief, and personal issues that lead to self destructive behaviors. Overall, it is, what I would consider to be a ‘must have’ type of crystal, due to its many wonderful properties and uses. Also known to be good for stomach issues, nightmares, many of the vital organ systems, circulatory, immunity, and even diabetes or fibromyalgia. It is also reputed to be good for detoxing, overcoming addiction, and a positive force for overcoming sexual issues. however, mostly, it is used for manifesting abundance and dispelling negativity, and I highly recommend getting some of this and working with it, for any of these reasons cited, and many more. I also recommend finding the ‘real’ Citrine, instead of the heat treated yellow variety. I have never been a fan of ‘treated crystals’, myself, and some may argue the point, but I find them to be damaged, and less than happy crystals, so I always recommend ‘naturals’, even over the tumbled varieties of any crystal. But, don’t take my word for it, go get yourself a Citrine, and watch the good fortune start rolling in.

A young woman went to her grandmother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her grandmother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first pot she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her granddaughter, she asked, “Tell me what you see?”

“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” she replied.

Her grandmother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked the granddaughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, she asked the granddaughter to sip the coffee. The granddaughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma then asked,

“What does it mean, grandmother?”

Her grandmother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water, but each reacted differently.

The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

“Which are you?” she asked her granddaughter.

“When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?”

Think of this: Which are you?

Are you the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do you wilt and become soft and lose your strength?

Are you the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did you have a fluid spirit, but after a death, breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have you become hardened and stiff? Does your shell look the same, but on the inside are you bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or are you like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hours are at their darkest and trials are their greatest so you elevate to another level?

So which are you?

Magical Spring

The tree survives -after turning ne’er completely brown the top lives on beautiful and green. Awe but we are blessed to know this loving oneness. The divine light, spirit and source, the sparkling of a billion stars dancing full tilt in the dewy starlight.

Slaying that Energy Sucking Monster called “Clutter”, Part II

Just a quick update this month on my ongoing struggle to free myself from material objects that have piled up around a bit precariously of late.  If you missed last month’s article, it was called “Slaying that Energy Sucking Monster Called ‘Clutter,’” and at the close, I promised I would hold myself accountable and get back to you all on how you did.

I am going to focus on the positive here as I don’t think it was realistic for me to think that I could ever get this big of a job done in one month.  I guess I’ll just give you the verdict as I see it, and then go into the clutter count, and update further in future newsletters.

The bottom line: I have engaged the enemy, half-heartedly at first, only getting rid of stuff I didn’t want to sell, but filling up about two trash receptacles worth of junk.  I also made some serious headway on my partner Inez’s bedroom.  (We have different clutter issues; her’s is mostly focused around disorganization, while mine is just too much stuff.) I also sorted all my albums and have two boxes that are ready to be either sold to a thrift store downtown, or prepared for sale on eBay if they still have some serious value.

My clutter project was done in odd snatches of time here and there, while Inez’s bedroom was the pitched battle I actually envisioned last month.   It took me about eight hours straight to organize all of Inez’s wardrobe into two bureaus and a closet, but I have to admit once I got started I actually enjoyed it.  In between phone readings, Inez helped by filling up one 39 gallon size trash bag of stuff to throw out and sorting her huge bundle of socks, while I worked the laundry, vacuumed her rug, and got all her clothes drawers labeled and organized.

I wish I had the foresight to take before and after photos, because it is pretty stunning in the bedroom now.  The rug is stained and needs a shampoo still, but hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day, right?

Ah, what a great feeling to finally not have to pass Inez’s room and feel that energy drain with piles of clothes scattered in various hampers and cardboard boxes.  Now I feel like I need a nap, though, since I started on this crazy project at a little past 5 AM.  All hail insomnia as the magic formula for defeating the clutter dragon!

She looked at him and knew she love him, but deep within her heart she longed for more than he could give. He had given her the best he knew how to give, but that was never enough to make love last. She wanted and needed the gentle touch of his hand to brush softly against her face, she longed for his embrace in the middle of the night just to assure her he would always be there for her. But she knew that would never come from him. Although he did love her, it was in a way, his upbringing and rough family back ground had not instilled those kinds of characteristic within his heart. What his ideal of love was did not come close to fulfilling her dreams of a lover or a husband. So within her heart she cried out for him to be the lover she had always wanted, but those screams of passion where never heard by his soul. She grew up and wiser in her young years and out grew what she once called the love of her life. She moved on and he moved out. Her sorrow finally passed and she found a new love that was not the cowboy type that she was accustoms to, but a strong gentle man whose hands held her close in the night and his words fell softly against her heart to let her know she was and would always be the love of his life.
