Baths-When using essential oils in your bath sprinkle 4-8 drops of essential oils on the top of the water then agitate the bath water to disburse the oils. Oils do not dissolve in water. To moisturize the bath add 1tsp. or 5ml of base oil.
Vaporizers and diffusers – a delightful and natural way to perfume a room is to diffuse essential oils into the atmosphere. There are many ways to do this. Using a tea-light candle diffuser, electric aromatic diffusers, and light-bulb rings. Even placing a small bowl of hot water on a radiator. For these above mentioned methods simply pour a little warm water in the bowl and add 8-10 drops of essential oils. As the water heats, the essential oils vaporize and fragrance the air. Geranium and bergamot will deodorize and neutralize cigarette smoke and pet smells, while lemongrass keeps insects at bay. To prevent infection spreading, use tea tree, rosemary, or eucalyptus, and to create a relaxing atmosphere, try frankincense and sandalwood.
Room Sprays– take a glass bottle with a spray attachment and almost fill it with cold water. For each 1tsp 5ml of water, use 3 drops of essential oils. For instance, a 3 ½ fl oz (100ml) bottle will take 60 drops of essential oils. A room freshener might include lavender, rosewood, bergamot and sweet orange. For a bathroom or toilet, a suitable blend could be cedar wood, juniper, pine and lemon. To create a sensuous evening atmosphere you could try rose, patchouli, mandarin, and sandalwood.
